Hello, my name is Joey Scribbles.
Welcome to my medium account and basically my world.
I’m a published writer, author, spoken word artist, and a list of other things. Writing, especially poetry, is what I really focus on in the art of writing, from linguistic techniques to storylines. I am so passionate about writing narratives and how art specifically things involving writing impact our world.
I have been writing since I was 14; in fact, my writing career is surprising looking back at it in retrospect because I had no plans of becoming a writer. But ultimately, through certain circumstances and situations growing up and being more fixated with things like music, storytelling, rhyming. It all became the gateway that got me into poetry, and ultimately leading me into being involved in the entire world of poetry.
As of 2025, I’ve had three books published. A couple of magazines published my work, and I was a featured spoken-word performer. Musical artists have even featured me in a couple of songs.
Artistry, especially writing, is so much of what my life is all about. Poetry and storytelling are central to life, and because of that, my love of writing centers on the pen. I believe so much of our life is a poem and because of that, I believe a lot of the things I will cover will not just be relatable to writers, poets, or any creative artist but people in general.
It’s the reason why you see the quote above: “The spoken word is temporary; the written word is forever.” So much of what we experience in this world, what we believe, what we go through, the people we interact with, what we think, what we hear, and even what we say all come down to the written word from laws to certain cultural beliefs to societal beliefs, and I feel these techniques and everything must get talked about, not just on the perspective of writing and making poetry, novels or creative writing arts. Their impact on our daily lives necessitates discussion of these things.

Hopefully, some of these things that I write and talk about can relate to you and you can take away from them even if you’re not an artist, a writer, or a “creative writer”, you can come away from this with substance to where you can apply to your day-to-day life.
My content is for everybody; it’s for everyone who wants to look at some other favorite forms of media and what makes them a fan, what they can learn or take from it, and what they can even take and learn from other successful people. My blog is not just for the writer, the poet, the novelist, or any creative writer; it’s for everybody, especially if you love all forms of art, entertainment and know how every medium offers something you can learn from.
I will also share my work as well, (poems and stories), and hopefully, you enjoy them.
